During my visits to designers, decorators and upholsterers, looking for fabrics to rescue from being discarded, I discovered some remnants of wonderful and beautiful silks, cottons, and synthetic blends. Most of these remnants were more suitable for garments, but were rather small pieces. I began to make designs for little girls when my granddaughter Leetal was born 1 1/2 years ago. In an “aha” moment, I thought to use these wonderful fabrics for skirts. This design is named “Julia”, after my spunky and independent 5 year old niece.
The body of the skirt is crafted from a remnant of a blue tweed decorator fabric. The skirt is embellished with raw edged flounces from a tie dyed and ribbon embellished synthetic georgette.
The waistband is adjustable with 1 inch elastic. All fabrics are prewashed.
Ruby, my talented model shown in the photos above is wearing a size 3-4 of this design in a different fabric, and she has just turned 3 years old.

Please also specify the number of rows of flounces you desire. This skirt has 2 rows. As the georgette varies in shading, each skirt will be unique. The zipper will be navy blue with metal teeth.
Machine wash cool or cold inside out, preferably in a lingerie bag. Hang to dry to preserve the elasticity of the waistband.
