12 Weight Aurifil Lana wool thread is a great decorative thread to add dimension and texture to your projects. Lana wool thread is full enough to provide ideal coverage and strong stitch definition, yet have a smooth and soft appearance.

From Aurifil website:

Cross stitch and hand embroidery: ideal for cross stitching with a single strand. Lana wool adds texture and depth and is lovely for traditional hand embroidery stitches using a single or double strand. Lana wool adds a homespun touch.

Hand applique' : Lovely results for blanket stitched applique' on wool fabrics, using a single or double strand. Perfect for creating a primitive look to folk art projects.
Machine applique' : Creates decorative stitching similar to crazy patchwork. Use 50 wt. in the bobbin.

Longarm quilting : Suitable for bobbin work. Mark the quilt with water soluble or monofilament invisible thread. Turn the quilt and use Lana in the bobbin for beautiful thread art. Use the largest needle your machine can hold.

Machine quilting : Suitable for quilting wool fabrics. Use a 90/14 topstitch needle.

Serging : Use in the lower looper

12 weight 2 ply
50% wool/50% acrylic fibers
383 yards (350 meters)
100 per cent long staple Egyptian Mako cotton

Large Eye Topstitch Needle Size 90/14 or 100/16 recommended

Washable in the washing machine on wool cycle with mild soap. Dry flat. Do not use chlorine. Can be steam ironed.

Aurifil has unique locking spools. Twist the end cap to remove the cap from the spool to get to the thread end. Return the cap to the spool and start sewing. When finished sewing, simply wrap the thread around the spool and return the end cap.

On the bottom of the cap, you will find thread color information so it is easy to reorder the color you need.

All spools are new and shrink wrapped.
