Into the woods! This is an e-pattern - PDF file that I will email to you- for knitting the above woodsy hoodie. The knitting looks very much like real fur and feels like real fur- extremely soft! The angora yarn makes this a one of a kind super soft hoodie, very lightweight but still very warm. Fall is just around the corner! Angora yarn is harvested from angora rabbits without hurting them. My angora rabbit loved sitting on my lap and having his fur combed which provided plenty of fiber for spinning.
For fun I included a photo of the 1950's stole kit from which I salvaged the yarn for this project. The pattern of alternating ribs of purl in angora yarn and moss stitch in worsted wool yarn create a look surprisingly akin to vintage fur coats and stoles. Changing the design from a stole to hoodie brings this project up to date. Angora yarn is a luxury item but worth the investment in quality. Find less expensive yarn by looking for older abandoned knitting kits on Etsy under vintage. Or check the Etsy sellers for upcycled or salvaged angora yarn, or wonderful home spun angora yarn. To complete this hoodie, you will need approximately 12 small skeins (.25 oz each) of at least 70% angora yarn and 1 1/2 skeins of 100 grams worsted wool in a similar color. The angora yarn should be fuzzy to give this a nice patterned halo.
