IGEC : Travel

Posted on May 23, 2015 | 3:43 am

Instagram isn't just a great place to get inspired for your next meal, craft project or photo walk - it's also a perfect cure (or trigger) for itchy feet. So many gorgeous photos of so many far flung destinations. I'm constantly drooling over all kinds of sights and cities in my feed, plotting and planning a dream trip that'll somehow include...

Three Etsy Things : Clutches

Posted on May 13, 2015 | 8:45 pm

I don't usually travel with a handbag - I prefer to take a backpack so I can carry my laptop, camera, chargers, hard drives and other fun stuff in there. But a backpack doesn't really cut it for a night on the town, so I always throw a clutch in my suitcase.Something not too big and not too small; something that sits flat so it doesn't take up too much valuable suitcase...

Two Weeks Away, One Cabin Bag : Summer in the City

Posted on May 12, 2015 | 2:36 am

A long time ago I shared some tips about packing, the most important being that you don't need to travel with as much stuff as you think you do. Trust me - there is absolutely nothing to love about hauling a large and unruly suitcase from place to place. All...

Jorpins 365 : April Favourites

Posted on May 5, 2015 | 9:22 pm

What a blur April was! It went by so damn quickly for me, I felt like I barely got a grasp on it...was it the same for you? Lots of red last month; unusual for me. But I just can't resist that gorgeous wall; it's just around the corner from us too. There was Hong Kong, and then back in Sydney there was loads of wind and hail and rain - those crazy storms - and swimming in the rain....

Death by Doxie : Porch Watch

Posted on April 30, 2015 | 6:37 pm

Outside of eating, the hounds most favourite thing in the world is to sit on the front porch and watch the world go by*. Preferably in the sunshine. And don't they look just adorable doing it? No really, it's been a pretty rotten week for the world so please - take a moment to just soak in Ferdi's paws, the way he tucks them in under his chest. And look...

I have a feeling those that know me well may have spat their morning cuppa all over their laptop screens when I announced this month's prompt. You see, sport and I have never really got along. You know those people that are a 'natural'? That can be good at any sport within five minutes of picking up a bat, ball or surfboard? Well, I'm the exact opposite of that....

On A Year And A Bit of Saying Sure, Why Not?

Posted on April 26, 2015 | 1:14 am

When we first moved back to Australia eighteen or so months ago I was feeling a bit lost. It was partly the standard dislocation and general weirdness that is a normal part of the repatriation process. But is was also partly something more.Living in Seoul I legally wasn't allowed to work. So I dabbled in things here and there. I explored on foot and...

Three Etsy Things : Soup Bowls

Posted on April 24, 2015 | 3:19 am

As much as I love the long sunny days of summer (and living in the sparkling harbour city of Sydney how could I not?), I do get a bit excited when the nights cool and the light softens. I adore autumn. Partly because of the gorgeously coloured leaves and that misty, filtered sunshine. And partly because it means a chance to wear boots and scarves and jackets, long socks...

Done! : Jabulani Challenge

Posted on April 20, 2015 | 2:55 am

On the Saturday just gone I participated in the Jabulani Challenge by walking 22 kilometres through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Part of me wants to say it doesn't really mean anything because the 'real' participants ran the whole course, or because the 'real' participants did 45 kilometres, or because my...

Death by Doxie : Ferdi's Birthday

Posted on April 16, 2015 | 7:10 pm

It was Ferdi's birthday last month. He turned eight, which is younger than I thought he was so yay! We are may be crazy dog people but we don't go over the top for the dogs birthdays. There's no cake or party or singing. They do normally get a treat - a raw egg, some roast chook, a bit of bacon - but, let's be honest, they get treats most days... I...
