About the Item

These two large buttons are handmade in a speckled brown stoneware clay that I cut into my favorite bird shape. They are stamped with a textured leaf pattern and glazed in a speckled tan which is glossy and feels very nice to touch. It is a creamy color where the glaze pools into the recesses of the texture and a shiny tan color where the glaze is thinner on the surface.

They are about 2 inches wide and about 3/4 inch tall. They are unglazed on the back but smooth. I have sewn them onto the card with embroidery floss and a tapestry needle so the holes will accommodate a larger needle.

These buttons can be the perfect finishing touch to your own knitted or crocheted project. They might even be a focal point on your mixed-media craft project or embellished wall quilt, or just the right closure for a handmade book or journal.

Fired to cone 5 in an electric kiln.
