About the Item

Two large Jewel Beetles (Chrysochroa buqueti rugicollis) adorn this matted shadowbox frame. Mounted on a warm blue-grey Victorian-style background, their metallic royal purple and pink colors look stunning. These beetles are large- approx. 2 inches tall and they make a very impressive display. Usually my #1 sellers at shows, these beetles look awesome in person.

Buprestids are a family of beetles that come from the jungles of Indonesia. They are large, metallic, and very colorful. The beetles here are Chrysochroa buquetii rugicollis. One is displayed in the flying position, and one has its wings closed. Buprestids are a luxurious beetle for anyone to own; they are sure to be a conversation-starter!

Their black and ivory double matted frame is about 8x10" in size. The inner framed area is 5x7". The outer frame is made from black wood and the whole display is about an inch deep. The frame comes ready to stand upright or hang on your wall.



(Just a note, because some people ask: Yes, these are their natural colors. I have not doctored them in any way. They really are this bright and metallic, hence their name: "jewel" beetles.)
