About the Item
The vast variations and interesting plumes of Manganese Dendrite within these agates lend themselves well to creating mini landscaped worlds within their infinite patterns. This one caught my eye because it reminds me of the soft steep mountains rising from out of the (Chalcedony) mist, seen so often in paintings of the mountains in China.
This Amethyst Sage Agate was mined in the Bilk Mountains of Nevada.
In the foreground a tall tree slants toward the right, followed by layer upon layer of hillsides dotted with trees. Nature paints you a picture in this stone!
It is roughly rectangular with the "top" smaller than the softly curved "bottom". Measurements are 36mm by 27mm by 21.5mm and a 4mm thickness. It rises quickly and the surface is only slightly curved. The stone is polished on all sides with a smooth flat back.
The first photo is shown in natural light, with the wire holding it upright.
Because of the infinite variations of natural deposits this (as are most) cabochon is one of a kind.
The cabochons I carry were finished by local artisans that I was happy to get a small but beautiful collection of stones from this year. We both thank you for your support.
