It turns out that selling online still isn’t easy. Marketing takes too much time, too many complications and choices, and costs are high. So concludes a study published by the ecommerce site Meylah.

Here is a quick summary of the study:

  • Online Business Takes too much time.

“By the time I finish promoting my business online, I feel like I have no time left to devote to actually creating my jewelry.”

  • Online solutions are not easy to use.

“Taking my business online is confusing and I just don’t know where to start.”

  • Websites are too expensive.

“I spend over $200 each year on my website and it doesn’t even allow me to sell through it, I know I’m losing sales because of this…it’s so frustrating.”

At least there is Handmade Spark to relieve some of the burden.  Handmade Spark’s SEO marketing service for Etsy sellers cost less than 20 cents a day, and requires no maintenance.

“I like the fact that when I renew pieces in my Etsy shop that those same pieces are the ones that are displayed in my mini-site on HS. I don’t have to maintain it or update like I had to do with other promotional sites.” ~ Dorthy Domingo.

I like marketing promotion by handmade spark. I can continue creating my leaf art and post it on ETSY. It automatically shows up on my mini site on HS. Thanks HS
