Search Traffic to Handmade Spark Increasing
As you may or may not know, we here at Handmade Spark pride ourselves on our SEO service that gets our members mini-sites found through search engines like Google and Yahoo. Before Christmas we had a huge surge in traffic coming from searches – over 60% of all traffic to Handmade Spark was search based. Considering we passed the 50k views per month mark back in December, that’s well over 30k searches a month leading customers to Handmade Spark members.

Now that the post-Holiday traffic lull has worn off, we’re experiencing record traffic coming from searches again. What does this mean for our members? Getting found in searches can be difficult and overwhelming. We help take the guess work out of it by optimizing your mini-site to get found. Read more about what we do here.
With all this traffic, how can you check on your performance? Step one is to make sure you have the correct Google Analytics code installed on your mini-site. Remember, your should look both at your views going to your Etsy shop and at your views on Handmade Spark. (Get the full tutorial on How To Install Google Analytics on your mini-site Here).
What can you do to get a piece of this traffic?
- Be patient. You can’t expect a huge increase in views in 2 weeks. SEO takes time.
- Check titles, tags, content, descriptions: Are they up to date and current?
- Update your pictures.
- Be active. Stop by the blog, leave comments, get noticed and join us on Facebook
- If we feature you or your shop, make sure to link back to us in your own blog, Twitter or Facebook
- Submit your own, original blog content for a Guest Post feature on our blog
Do you have a Handmade Spark Success Story you’d like to share? Send us a link to your blog post here. You can also share ‘life as an artist’ stories, DIY challenges, Handmade tutorials and crafty how-to’s or even sources for your own design inspiration.
