Where is your Etsy RSS Feed?
Your Etsy shop RSS Feed can be found in the right hand column under the page tools. Your feed
Here is what your Etsy Rss feed looks like. It is updated every time you add a new listing or renew an item. Below you can see what my Etsy shop RSS feed looks like. You can subscribe HERE.
Here the link you want to copy and paste into your Etsy shop announcement.
How can you promote your Etsy shop RSS Feed?
The first way to get your RSS feed out there is to put a link right in your Etsy announcement. This can be super powerful, because your buyers will get updates as soon as you list new items or renew items. Adding a link here gets this right in front of your buyers.
The second way to promote your Etsy RSS feed is with a button on your blog. You can link a button on your blog straight to your RSS feed where your buyers can subscribe quick and easy.
Here are a few My Etsy RSS Feed badges that I put together. Feel free to right click on the images and save them to your computer. After you have them saved just add on to your blog and link it to your Etsy Shop RSS Feed.
Something to consider:
Let’s say you promote your Etsy shop RSS feed and you get 100 people subscribed to your feed. That is 100 people that are interested in the items you sell. Every time you update your shop with new or renewed items these 100 people are going to get notified that you have a new and fresh shop. Ok… now let’s consider this… you have 1000+ people subscribed to your RSS feed. Think of the potential views… sales… and growth your Etsy shop will receive.
Take Modish for example… yes this is a blog and an awesome one at that… but this blog has over 7000 subscribers…think….think….think!!
In conclusion:
Your Etsy shop RSS feed and your Blog RSS feed are a very important part to your Etsy business. The great thing about your Etsy RSS is it is already set and ready to go. Promoting your Etsy RSS feed and getting your buyers and lookers to subscribe are vital to the growth of your Etsy shop.

Hi Tim, I have a question this morning. I did the auto Etsy shop updates on Twitter last night. I went into my twitter this morning and looked under my connections to see if it was there and it isn’t or does it not show up there? I had recently linked my fan page from facebook to twitter and it is there so I am just wondering if I was supposed to do something else to get it there. Also I disabled the link from facebook to twitter because I was afraid if the same info went to twitter from two different places it would look like I was spamming. Am I correct on this or am I looking at it wrong.
Thank you, Hazel
Hazel,
I don’t have my Facebook linked to my Twitter. There is to much going on on Twitter that your Facebook friends would not understand. Like conversations between you and other Twitters. I keep them separate!
Thank’s Tim on the info about facebook and twitter. My other question, is my RSS from Etsy supposed to be in my connections on Twitter for it to work? It wasn’t there this morning so I wanted to know if there is something I missed when I did it last night or does it not show up there.
Thank’s, Hazel
Hi Tim, I just did a test. I renewed an item on Etsy and then went to twitter to see if it was there and it’s not. What am I doing wrong?
Thank’s, Hazel
Hi Tim, Sorry I was such a pain !! I got it all figured out
Thank’s,
Hazel

Is there a way to tell how many subscribe to your Etsy RSS feed?
Such great info, I posted in my blog! Thank you! http://www.raigecreations.blogspot.com
Looks great.. and thanks for the great post about my Etsy shop, blog, and Handmade Spark!
This is one thing that I’m confused about. There’s already an RSS feed in the shop, so what is the advantage of linking it to your shop announcement? More visibility Also, for some reason when I try to subscribe to an RSS feed on my current computer, all I get is a page full of text, very weird, I’m not certain what causes this & if I add a button to my blog, if it will actually work. Thanks for the tips! I usually get all this stuff, so I’m not sure what I’m missing here
samsstuff,
Yes adding your rss feed to your announcement is to give it more visibility. Most shoppers will not spot it where it is.
Here is your rss feed link: http://www.etsy.com/rss_shop.php?user_id=5956156
