How To Add Google Analytics Tracking To Your Handmade Spark Account
Google Analytics tracking is available for Handmade Spark accounts. With Google Analytics installed, subscribers are able to track all of their incoming traffic to their mini-site. All new subscribers can enter their tracking code when they sign up for an account or add it in later by logging into their mini-site.
Installing Google Analytics for your mini-site:
Login to your Google Analytics account and create a new website profile. If you are setting up a new subscription, you can enter the URL address where your mini-site will be located. (http://www.handmadespark.com/myspark/yourshopname). Once you have entered your URL address, click finish to save your information.
After you hit the finish button you will be taken to a screen where you will find your tracking code. Make sure the website URL matches up with your mini-site.
For all subscribers setting up a new subscription, copy and paste your tracking code and place it in the box shown below before you submit your form.
If you are an existing subscriber, go to the home page and hit sign in. The first time you do this you will be sent an email to verify your identity, please follow the email instructions to login to your mini-site.
Once your Google Analytics tracking code is installed, it will take 24 -48 hours before you will start seeing any traffic results.
Check the Status of your Tracking:
Find your Mini-Site profile in Google Analytics and click the edit button.
Next click the check status button shown below.
Here is where you will be able to see the status of your tracking code. In this case, it shows receiving data which is a sign that you are good to go!
Tracking your Mini-Site Traffic:
The first step to tracking traffic leaving your mini-site and going to your Etsy shop is to look at your Top Exit Pages in your Google Analytics report for your mini-site.
In this example, there were 23 visits exited from a total of 8 pages. Here you can get an idea of what product pages are sending you the most exits to your Etsy shop. You can change your date range by day, month or year.
Checking Traffic in your Google Analytics Report for your Etsy Shop:
The second way to track how much traffic your mini-site is bringing into your Etsy shop is to check your Google Analytics report for your Etsy shop. You can easily jump to see your Etsy Shop report by using the View Reports drop down bar located at the top of your screen:
Under Traffic Sources, take a look at your referring sites. Here you can get an overview of how many sources are sending you traffic.
Now search for handmadespark.com and click to get an overview of how many visits you are getting.
