How to Add a Background to Twitter
Having a background on Twitter is one of the most important things to do on your Twitter account. In one instance, a background can catch the attention of a potential follower/customer, showcase your work, and possibly share some information (depending on the kind of background you make). PS. It is really easy to get a background on your account!

This post is to give you a quick recap of how to actually get a background posted to your Twitter account but, here are a few tips for creating your background.

  • Use coloring that matches the colors you already use for your product/shop graphics.
  • Keep the bulk of your information and pictures to the left side and make sure it is in a thin space so that you can see it.
  • Make sure the font you use is easily read.
  • Use some kind of picture(s) of your product somewhere so people instantly get an idea of what you do.
  • The size of your ending file needs to be 800k or less and made in a GIF, JPG, or PNG file extension.

Adding the Background

  • Log into your Twitter account.
  • On the top right side click your user name; this causes a drop down menu to appear.
  • Click on the settings button.
  • Click on the design button.

  • Toward the bottom, click the change background image button which will expand some options.

  • Click the browse to navigate and find your background file. When you find it, click the file and then click open.

  • If you want to tile your image (repeat it several times in the background) be sure to check the tile background button.
  • Click the Save Changes button; you will see the background of your settings page change and a bar will appear for a moment on the top saying the settings were saved.
  • Lastly, go to your profile, view your new background, and enjoy!

See, that was painlessly easy wasn’t it?

Great post Danelle. Yes, it took me a few takes to upload a background to Twitter. Keeping in mind the edges that would be seen by others.

    Thanks for sharing:)

Depending on what your background looks like and whether or not you have words or pictures on it, keep in mind that those words and such will continue to tile and will be seen differently on different size screens
