Handmade Spark Adds MySpark Mini-Sites to Generate Even More Visibility For You Across The Web

Handmade Spark has added mini-sites that enable you to benefit from the high search results that our web traffic generates. The new mini-sites, called “MySpark,” take advantage of the social web, search engines, and also give you a site that you can give to customers and prospects that they can use to check you out all across the web.

The MySpark mini-sites and the existing Handmade Spark directory, combined with the active promotion we provide for you across the social web, helps give you the visibility needed to be a successful web-based business.

Behind the scenes, we are constantly promoting Handmade Spark on social sites like StumbleUpon, Facebook, Twitter, and more. We actively promote on our blog as well as on other blogs and sites across the Internet. Your mini-site also gets the advantage of all the traffic that Handmade Spark generates. This traffic directly results in high search engine rank, and gets you to the top of searches that match your content.

Setting up your Pro listing, which includes the MySpark mini-site and directory listing, is easy. All you have to do is provide us with some basic information, and your mini-site and directory listing is automatically created — and updated as your content changes.

Let’s take a look at a MySpark mini-site in more detail. Below you will see the Catherinette Rings MySpark mini-site where we have numbered the sections of the mini site so that we can dig in to them one by one.

My Spark mini site overview

1. A mini-site uses your Etsy shop banner, creating an instant and consistent brand with your Etsy shop. Your banner is automatically set to link to your Etsy shop with your proper Etsy url. This is the first step in optimizing your mini site for SEO. Your banner for your mini site will automatically change if you change your banner in your Etsy shop.

2. The “About me” section is where you provide information about who you are and what you sell. Here is where you want to tell your buyers about your Etsy shop and include keywords for better SEO. This section is the second step in making your mini-site optimized for SEO.

3. The social links give your buyers the ability to share your mini-site all over the web and is super powerful. There are hundreds of sites to share your mini-site on. The most recent is the Facebook “like” button. Your buyers can “like” your mini-site and it will show up on their wall. The number of likes also increases with every like, so you can keep track of your Facebook likes!

4. Here is the real fun for your buyers. This is an interactive space where your buyers can view the items in your shop. Mousing over the smaller pictures causes the picture to show up as the larger picture. They can see the title and the price and click through to Etsy and purchase the item if they like it! This is the third way that your mini-site is optimized for SEO. The titles of your items are searchable, so make sure your titles are up to par!! (What’s In a Title?)

5. SEO heaven here!! This is where Google is going to find your meta-data that you can control. Your meta-description is pulled from your Bio. And your meta keywords are entered when you first sign up. Check out the page source below from Catherinette Rings mini-site. This is the fourth place that the SEO is optimized.

6. Here is where your buyers are going to be able to connect with you with little effort. There is a large “Contact Me” button where they can email you directly and securely through Handmade Spark’s email system. Your buyers will also be able to click right through to your Etsy shop, Facebook page, blog, and website. This will allow them to see what you are up to around the web and better understand your brand.

7. Your blog is automatically imported into your mini-site. When you update your blog your mini-site will update your blog feed for you. These posts are very SEO friendly, so be sure to write good titles and posts. This is the fifth spot where your mini-site SEO is optimized.

8. Just like your blog feed, your Twitter feed is automatically inserted into your mini-site. Once again your Twitter feed is SEO friendly, making it the sixth place where your mini-site SEO is optimized.

Hi Tim, I’m already a pro member and I checked out the new mini site , it’s a great addition,

And I hope it’ll help my Etsy low traffic situation.

How ever, I’d like to add my facebook fan page and my twitter to the contact section. How do I do this? Please help, Thank you so much! irit

I love the mini site, thanks for adding this feature!

I have a couple of questions:
When I search Handmade Spark for samsstuff, the mini site doesn’t appear, only an article mention & the writers page. Do they appear under my name, rather than the shop name? Also, can I edit the site myself or do you do that, at this point? My Facebook & Twitter links don’t show up either.

Where did you get the mini site from? Did you create it so it pulls those things from the shop? I’m guessing the shop has to be well optimised in the first place for Search engines.
Using the social websites is good for Google Caffeine.

    Shelley,

We fixed your links, and when you will need to search in the directory to find your mini-site, the blog search is separate. Oh and editing will be handled by us for now!

  • Tim Adam

    Linda,

The info that is pulled from your Etsy shop is the banner, avatar, and items. The rest is entered by the customer this way you have control over what your mini-site is optimized for. Also your twitter and blog posts are searchable by google.

I am thinking about getting one… and becoming pro… but I have a question first. I see that you have categories and I sell hair accessories. My etsy shop falls in both accessories and weddings. Would I have to pick just one? Or can I choose both somehow? Thanks!

  • Tim Adam

You can pick 5 categories to be in!
