Handmade Blogging Blueprint
I have been blogging in the handmade scene for over 3 years. I have recently reached the 1 million page view mark with my blogs. As early as 2008, the Etsy community named one of my blog posts the #1 most helpful post of the year for helping sellers succeed on Etsy. (Side note – it was a post about boosting your shop’s PageRank on Google… Another post about Blogging Success was ranked #10 of the entire year and gathered over 100,000 page views .) My blog has boosted my traffic to my Etsy shop and has resulted in direct sales.

I learned a few new tricks and this certainly re-lit my blogging fire. However, I don’t totally agree about selling ads on your blog. Here’s why: you’re writing this to get people interested in YOUR work, so why have so many ads sending them other places? You want to keep them interested, not give them every opportunity to run away.
