Today I sent out my first newsletter, you would think by the amount of time, preparation, expletive shouting and gnashing of teeth that occurred that I had actually given birth, and in a way I had….the planning of content and images, the whole look and feel, finding a voice, creating a banner and really committing to my brand all took an insane amount of time (not 9 months mind you) but not 5 minutes either…and it is because this is a part of me, I am passionate about my creative life, my creative business and my creations….then there is the execution, the technology learning curve the late nights and lack of sleep – this is the part where you are so ready to see the result of all this hard work, love and nurturing and still it is not ready to be complete…this part helps to expand your dreams & keeps you both frustrated with impatience  and motivated because this thing that you love is still potential -  it can be everyone of your hopes and dreams and none of the doubt or negativity that creeps in….and finally there is the joy, the release and the arrival of your finished copy.. and just like that – you are so very excited that it all came together and all of your links work and everything is balanced and pretty and it really does look like YOU! in that joy you forget all of the other steps that gave you anything but this great and perfect moment…..because this is not just a newsletter, it is MY newsletter…it is visible proof that I exist not just as a person, but as a creative business entity… I have a place at the craft table and all those who surround me are happy I am there…I know I am so very happy I am there and so grateful for the support of those who actively, veraciously and lovingly encourage my pursuit of growing my creative biz.

**this piece is also my giant thank you and homage to kelly rae roberts who with her husband welcomed their first child ~ baby true ~ to the world and whose creative passion united many wonderful crafty folks who stand as a virtual family and community that support this handmade life**

This is so true :: I sent my first one few months ago and I never had a chance to reflect upon it… THANK YOU for doing it and putting beautiful words on this “simple” and yet so complicated personal sort of “Manifesto”.

This is the part that I really loved :: ” it is visible proof that I exist not just as a person, but as a creative business entity… I have a place at the craft table and all those who surround me are happy I am there…I know I am so very happy I am there and so grateful for the support of those who actively, veraciously and lovingly encourage my pursuit of growing my creative biz.”
