Every Cloud… Etsy Cloud Finds

Every cloud has a silver lining, or so they say.

Do you think it’s just a throw away line?  Or something that’s said because it’s true?  Maybe it represents a glass-half-full way of looking at the world and maybe you have to actually seek out the good bits in the grey?

I suppose I can think of many ‘clouds’ in my life that have had silver linings.  Having to quit full-time work, for example.  I’ve always strived to be independent (I think that comes from growing up in a house with ‘Girls Can Do Anything’ posters plastered over every wall, thanks Mum!), so letting go of a steady income and having to rely on someone else to support me was a pretty scary thing.  But, if I hadn’t of done that, I never would have had the time to rediscover the fun of crafting and to get involved in the fabulous, supportive, inclusive handmade community.

But today I’m in a funk about something that has no apparent upside.  Maybe the silver lining will appear in time?

While I’m waiting, at least I have these cute and creative cloud inspired Etsy goodies to look at.

The keywords to your funk are "looking back." It's been the same in my life. The current crisis always seems like it will not have a positive outcome. But, "looking back," it will seem there was a reason for it and it will be crystal clear! You have a positive attitude, evidenced by the lovely things you've chosen to highlight, as well as the fact they all seem to have positivity associated with them in one way or another! Great article!

Your mum sounds cool and a wise man once said how most things that seem to need fixing will sometimes fix itself if you leave it be, hope you get out of your funk soon!

It sounds like even if your little cloud hangs low for a while Emily, that you have some pretty special people to support you! You know what they say too – sometimes angst is the best creative drive for a really amazing pice of art (See, there's a silver lining right there!).

Thanks for showing everyone my little blue fox – he is in wonderful company.

you're so right–EVERYTHING has a silver lining. that's how i got started as well (my husband left, lost my home and had to move to a cheaper [read, slum] home, was broken into repeatedly so lost my belongings, lost my job–BUT i gained the ability to do what i now do).
sometimes the silver lining is the character and compassion for others that is created by going thru the hard times-gold is only refined by fire, not by sitting around taking it easy, and like Kay said, you dont recognize it til later.
Life can be summed up by one word: Attitude. Stuff happens. it can make you or break you, its all up to you and your attitude. We're all in the same boat–that's why we need to be gentle with each other.
    peace and blessings to you!

Sometimes it's hard to see the silver lining until the storm has passed. I hope your storm passes soon!

Thank you for including our cloud stacker with all the other cute cloudy-ness!

Wow! What beautiful and inspiring words! And it's so very true what you say about attitude – it is how you approach the 'stuff' that makes all the difference, not the 'stuff' itself.

Sounds like you truly have an amazing approach to life, thanks so much for telling us about it.

Yes! I hadn't though of the creative aspect – I have been writing blog posts and sketching plans like a mad woman these past few days, so maybe that is the silver lining!
