Effective Treasury Commenting

etsy treasury tutorial

After a bit of experimenting, it seems commenting on Etsy Treasuries can be a great way to get exposure for your shop! I commented on a bunch, and within a couple of days I was chosen by several curators for their treasuries, and one of the items in a treasury sold!

I’ve now had that happen twice, and I plan for it to happen many more times.

I theorize that most curators like to look at who is commenting on their treasuries, so it can’t hurt to comment and get seen by them. Many curators create treasuries again and again, and are always looking for new shops to feature.

A tip though. Make sure you have a great avatar! A curator will be much more likely to click to your shop if you have a good avatar.

How should you comment? Leave comments that are useful. Don’t say things like “Pretty!” and then leave. Leave a comment that shows you where paying attention to the treasury. I like to say what my favorite item of the treasury is, or point out how well the color scheme was put together, etc.

These types of comments will get you a lot more attention. Besides, if I were a curator I would enjoy getting more comments like this….

I would encourage you to try out some treasury commenting and see how it works out for you!

Thanks for the insight! I usually only comment on treasuries that include something of mine.

Thanks Johanna – I actually found this helpful sometime last year – when there were still different treasury lists. If I wasn't showing up in many treasuries I would start at the end of the list – the newest, therefore the ones that would be on for a few days, and stroll through for 15 – 20 minutes. I'd comment on the ones that I liked, and let them know what I liked about their collection. Without fail I would be included in more treasuries within the next week. I also ended up with LOTS more favorite shops, because the work on Etsy is so amazing!!

Yes have to say I have found the same, and also making teasuries, people repay you by including you in theirs in the future.

Excellent ideas, I know I have gotten great response from the "treasury" style articles that I've written here, in the past. Etsy treasuries (& now ArtFire treasuries) are another great way to do this. I always try to comment on the treasuries that fellow team members (like EtsyRain) are in. Making & commenting on team treasuries is a great way to share the love & get views for your team & ultimately, yourself.

It's worked for me. I also always click on the link of anyone who posts on my Treasuries that isn't listed in them and then I sometimes add them into one my near-future Treasuries! ^_^

Very interesting and informative post. Treasuries are such beautiful eye candy, I am drawn to them, but I am still thinking as a buyer, clicking links and checking out shops. Being new to Etsy as a Seller, there is so much to learn. Thanks for all the Etsy tips – this is something simple that anyone can do. :)
