Build Your Community
My tip is this… create a community. If you have a community of fans and friends around you it can benefit by getting you more traffic to your site, help when you need advice and much more! Traffic=sales and help=well that’s just nice to have when you need it. There are a couple ways of creating a community…
Blogging
Friends and family
Craft fairs
Twitter
Facebook
Etsy Forums / chat
My two favourites are blogging and using the help of my friends and family.
-Blogging helps me share my work with the world while still portraying the handmade aspect of it as well. I get to here feedback on my work and talk to my customers.
-Friends and Family are always a great help because they can carry business cards and spread the word about you. They will probably talk highly of our work too! You can also get their help buy asking them to distribute posters in local coffee shops or grocery stores.
