Affordable Art with ACEOs
“Goldbird, Misty Morning” – an original ink drawing by Tallystick Traders
If you’re like me, you probably find yourself gazing at the beautiful artwork available on Etsy and wishing you had the cash to buy all the pieces you love.
ACEOs are a great way to indulge that urge to buy art, and to support fellow artists, without breaking the bank.
So what is an ACEO? ACEO stands for “Art Cards, Editions and Originals”. They are artist trading cards – each measuring 2.5” x 3.5”. The great thing about ACEOs is that they are affordable – in many cases you can pick yourself up an original work of art for around $10!
Here’s a few of my favorites found browsing the ACEO section on Etsy:
“Flurry of Cotton” – original watercolor by Shelleyroze Ozbirn
“Lighthouse” – original acrylic painting by Samantha Taubenberger from Sam’s Paintbrush.
Once you start collecting ACEO’s it becomes quite addictive! They can be displayed on a little easel (which you can buy in craft stores) like the lighthouse picture above, you can frame them individually, or my personal favorite – pick out a set of ACEOs in colors that compliment one another, and display them together in a frame.
